****** NOTICE TO ALL INVESTIGATORS ******
After June 1, 2010 the NIH Neuroscience Microarray Consortium will no longer be operating.

Projects with fewer than 50 samples must be received before March 1, 2010 in order to be processed by the Consortium. We anticipate that all projects submitted prior to March 1, 2010 will be processed. However if the capacity of performing microarrays is exceeded by committed projects before this date, the consortium may not be able to accommodate some projects. Beginning January 1, 2010 investigators should email the consortium coordinator before creating the project online to ensure your project will be accepted. Larger projects should consult with the coordinator prior to sample registration.

If you would like, the consortium can forward your project to a center after the close of the consortium but Neuroscience Microarray Consortium prices are not guaranteed and will be subject to change.

The NIH Neuroscience Microarray Consortium was initiated in 2002 and has performed over 450 expression profiling projects and more than 50 genotyping projects using Agilent, Affymetrix and Illumina arrays as well as spotted cDNA arrays. The consortium has developed algorithms or DNA pooling, network analysis, and large scale gene expression tools. The average user of the consortium has rated the services as 'excellent' and this usage of the Consortium has resulted in over 100 manuscripts to date. We are pleased to have been a vital component of the genomics infrastructure funded by the NIH Neuroscience Blueprint.

"Having this resource, which provided quality data, at a reasonable cost, was essential to my research. The investigators and laboratory personnel that I worked with were very responsive and helpful. Having core facilities that are available to many investigators, and not restricted to a single university, should be a goal of the NIH, as long as they are well-run." — NIH funded investigator, past user
